Rally Forward: Battle of Fort Capuzzo  Reply with quote

I ran the Fort Capuzzo scenario from the upcoming Bengazi Handicap book as a practice run for Fall In at a local small convention. I was in the last session and only had one player so I took the Brits. We didn't get a chance to finish but we had fun until we had to quit.

My model of the Fort with the German Staff stand in the door way.

One of Frank's Matildas.

A company of British Infantry.

Two of Frank's PzIIIs.

The start of the German attack.

First blood. The 2lber portee killed the recon PzII and then was itself knocked out by the follow-up armor.

One of my PzIIIs acting as the 8th Pz Regiment HQ.

Very good on the Ids. However the last PzIII is a 1/72nd scale kit. It was a late model with side skirts and solid tracks. I can't find the instruction sheet which is strange because I always save them. I don't remember the manufacturer I picked them up at Proseks here in Chicagoland (we needed 2 more PzIIIs for the scenario. So I picked up three and a PzII. The crew figure didn't come with the kit.

Looks good. I'm pretty sure the Brit infantry is Airfix's lovely 8th Army set. Tom, what's the portee? It's a bit obscured by smoke in your photo :-).

The unidentified PzIII is from Revell. The 2lb portees are one of Frank's famous conversions. They are Rocco Dodge lt trucks with I think a Rocco German 37mm AA gun (probably from the mobilewagen or a sWs) with a card stock gun shield.

I split this topic. Everything related to the order cubes has been placed in the Play Aids section.
