Noville & Foy Battlefield Pictures

These pictures were taken in September 2010. Please look at the scenario map in order to locate the position and direction of the photos.

Picture 1: This is a series of pictures, actually taken just south of the battlefield. In the first Dave can be seen on the edge of the dense pine wood in the second he's moved 10 meters within, he's getting hard to see and I was only 20m or so from the wood edge. The third pic is looking north down the old railway track, now a cycle path

Picture 2 was taken just outside Foy looking down towards Noville. The road is dead straight broken up by a series of undulations

Picture 3 was taken from the same location and shows the fields looking out towards Recogne. Where the land is flat there is very little cover.

Picture 4 was also taken from the same place and looks towards Cobru

Picture 5. Shows the hill that 2nd Panzer descended from in order to attack Noville

Picture 6. Shows the church in the centre of Noville on the crossroads at the centre of town.

Picture 7 shows the minor road out of Noville to the North West ascending the ridge occupied by 2 Panzer Division

Picture 8 shows the main road north from Noville

Picture 9 is a series of two showing the stream west of Noville. Dave is there to give a sense of scale. As you can see the stream is little more than a ditch but for some of its length it has small trees along it

Picture 10. Shows the open country to the west of Noville again looking up towards 2PD's deployment area. This illustrates how small stands of trees can start to "merge" and act as a block to LOS.
